Important Information for RRB Ajmer Candidates
RRB Ajmer has 304 vacancies: 4 Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor, 236 Goods Train Manager, 35 Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist and 29 Senior Clerk cum Typist. These comprise notified vacancies in railway units under that RRB and do not guarantee a posting only in Rajasthan. Choose your RRB after checking post availability, medical requirements and your willingness to serve in the relevant units.
Educational Qualification
Applicants must possess a degree from a recognised university or its equivalent by 6 November 2026. Candidates awaiting the final result of the prescribed qualification are not eligible to apply. Keep degree certificates and marksheets showing the result-declaration date ready for verification. A 12th-pass qualification alone does not fulfil the requirement of this Graduate notification.
Computer and typing proficiency remain relevant for Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist and Senior Clerk cum Typist. However, this notification removes the separate pre-appointment Computer Based Typing Skill Test. Proficiency is assessed after joining, and unsatisfactory performance can affect confirmation or promotion.
Age Limit and Relaxation
The standard age range is 18 to 33 years as on 1 January 2027. Use the date of birth recorded in the Class 10 or equivalent certificate. The eligibility dates and relaxation provisions must be read together with the category conditions in Section 5.
| Category | Upper-age relaxation |
|---|---|
| OBC-NCL | 3 years, subject to notification conditions |
| SC / ST | 5 years, subject to notification conditions |
| PwBD, Ex-servicemen and eligible railway employees | Refer to the specific provisions and conditions in paragraph 5.2 |
Do not automatically add separate relaxations together. Reservation, age relaxation and fee concession have distinct requirements, and the relevant certificates must support the claim.
Application Fees and Refunds
| Candidate group | Fee | Refund after attending CBT-1 |
|---|---|---|
| Candidates outside the concessional groups | ₹500 | ₹400 less applicable bank charges |
| SC/ST, Ex-servicemen, PwBD, female, transgender, minority and eligible EBC candidates | ₹250 | ₹250 less applicable bank charges |
Online payment is accepted through Internet Banking, Debit/Credit Card or UPI. Refunds depend on appearing in CBT-1. EBC, OBC and EWS are different categories: OBC or EWS status alone does not establish eligibility for the EBC fee concession. Keep the required supporting documents and follow the bank-account instructions on the application portal.
Selection Process: No Separate Typing Skill Test
- First Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-1)
- Second Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-2)
- Document Verification
- Prescribed Medical Examination
Paragraph 13.0(c) specifically dispenses with CBTST for the two typist posts in CEN 06/2026. The notified selection sequence does not include a Station Master aptitude test. CBT-1 is a screening examination; normalised CBT-2 marks are used for Document Verification shortlisting. Selection remains subject to merit, preference, vacancies, document checks and medical suitability.
CBT-1 and CBT-2 Examination Pattern
| Subject / Rule | CBT-1 | CBT-2 |
|---|---|---|
| General Awareness | 40 questions / 40 marks | 50 questions / 50 marks |
| Mathematics | 30 questions / 30 marks | 35 questions / 35 marks |
| General Intelligence and Reasoning | 30 questions / 30 marks | 35 questions / 35 marks |
| Total | 100 questions / 100 marks | 120 questions / 120 marks |
| Standard time | 90 minutes | 90 minutes |
| Wrong-answer penalty | One-third mark | One-third mark |
The subject distribution is indicative. Eligible PwBD/PwD candidates under the scribe provisions receive 120 minutes. Minimum qualifying percentages are 40% for UR/EWS, 30% for OBC-NCL/SC and 25% for ST, with the specified PwBD relaxation where applicable. Meeting these percentages alone does not guarantee shortlisting.
Syllabus and Preparation
Prepare Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, and General Awareness for both CBTs. Mathematics includes arithmetic, mensuration, elementary algebra, geometry, trigonometry and statistics. Reasoning covers series, coding, relationships, syllogism, puzzles and interpretation. General Awareness combines current events with history, geography, polity, science, economy, environment and computers. Use the separate syllabus guide linked below as a checklist.
How to Apply Online
- Open the official RRB application portal and select CEN 06/2026.
- Use an existing RRB account, or create an account with your own active email address and mobile number.
- Enter identity, qualification and category details exactly as supported by certificates.
- Choose only one RRB and record preferences for eligible posts and railway units available there.
- Complete live photograph capture and upload the signature and other applicable documents in the prescribed format.
- Check the application preview, pay the fee and retain the submitted form and payment confirmation.
Multiple applications against the same CEN can lead to rejection and debarment. Account-creation details and the chosen RRB cannot be changed in the modification window. Permitted modifications require a non-refundable fee of ₹250 for each occasion during 9–18 November 2026.
Documents and Details to Keep Ready
Keep your Class 10 certificate, degree and marksheets, valid identity proof, signature, active contact details and applicable category or relaxation certificates ready. Serving candidates should review the NOC rules. Review the post-specific medical standard before choosing preferences; passing the written examination alone does not establish fitness for appointment.
