RRB Paramedical Salary and Pay Level 2026
CEN 05/2026 lists nine paramedical posts across Pay Levels 3 to 7 of the 7th CPC. The notified initial basic pay ranges from ₹21,700 to ₹44,900 per month.
Salary depends first on the post and its pay level. The notification gives the initial basic pay for each post. Gross earnings and the amount credited to an employee’s bank account depend on applicable allowances and payroll deductions.

Basic Pay, Gross Salary and In-hand Salary
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Basic pay | The fixed pay component. The post-wise table shows the notified starting amount. |
| Gross salary | Basic pay plus allowances and other earnings admissible to the employee. |
| Deductions | Applicable employee contributions, tax and other payroll recoveries. |
| In-hand salary | Gross salary minus applicable deductions; this is the net amount credited. |
Gross salary = Basic pay + Admissible allowances and earnings
In-hand salary = Gross salary − Applicable deductions
Allowances and Other Salary Components
Railway payroll includes components such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Transport Allowance. Their admissibility and amounts are governed by the relevant Railway orders and the employee’s circumstances. Special duty-related or post-specific allowances apply only where the relevant rules permit them.
| Component | What candidates should check |
|---|---|
| Dearness Allowance (DA) | The rate applicable for the relevant salary period. |
| House Rent Allowance (HRA) | Posting location, accommodation status and applicable entitlement rules. |
| Transport Allowance | The applicable pay-level, location and entitlement conditions. |
| Other allowances | Whether the particular post and duties satisfy the governing order. |
No current DA percentage, HRA percentage or fixed allowance amount is assumed here. CEN 05/2026 provides initial basic pay but does not prescribe a single take-home amount for every new appointee.
Why In-hand Salary Can Differ
Two employees with the same starting basic pay may receive different net pay because of admissible allowances, housing circumstances, employee contributions, tax and individual recoveries. An online estimate is useful only when its rates, location and deduction assumptions are stated.
For example, a Pharmacist and a Radiographer both start at Level 5 with ₹29,200 basic pay. That shared basic pay does not, by itself, establish an identical final bank credit for both employees.
Salary Comparison: Key Points

Pay Growth and Career Progression
The amounts above describe entry basic pay. Later pay fixation, increments and promotion benefits follow applicable service rules and orders. The recruitment notification does not guarantee a particular promotion date or a fixed future in-hand salary.
When comparing posts, check the required qualification, professional registration, medical standard and actual role alongside the starting pay level.
