Overview

Mission Shakti is an integrated umbrella scheme launched by the Ministry of Women and Child Development for the safety, security and empowerment of women, implemented during the period 2021-22 onwards. It brings together various schemes and services under two broad sub-schemes: “Sambal”, focused on the safety and security of women, and “Samarthya”, focused on the empowerment of women. Sambal includes components such as One Stop Centres, Women Helpline and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, while Samarthya covers schemes like Shakti Sadan, Sakhi Niwas, Palna (creches) and the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, providing holistic support to women.
