PMMSY is the largest-ever investment in India's fisheries sector. India is one of the top fish producers in the world, so this scheme links livelihoods, exports and nutrition — a frequently tested economy & agriculture topic.

The Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) was launched in 2020 to bring about a Blue Revolution through sustainable and responsible development of the fisheries sector in India. It seeks to enhance fish production, modernise the value chain and improve the welfare of fishers and fish farmers.
