Overview

RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) is a World Bank-assisted central-sector scheme launched in 2022 to strengthen India's Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. It seeks to improve access to markets and credit, strengthen institutions and governance at the centre and state levels, improve centre-state linkages and partnerships, and address issues such as delayed payments and the greening of MSMEs.

Key Objectives

  • Improve access to markets and credit for MSMEs
  • Strengthen institutions and governance in the MSME ecosystem
  • Enhance centre-state linkages and partnerships
  • Address delayed payments and promote greening of MSMEs

Salient Features

The scheme supports the implementation and outcomes of existing MSME schemes, and helps build the capacity of states to undertake MSME-focused reforms through Strategic Investment Plans (SIPs). By improving the quality of MSME programmes and enhancing their reach to underserved segments, RAMP aims to make the sector more competitive, formalised and resilient.
