📌 Why It Matters

Universal household electrification transformed rural life, education and small enterprises. Saubhagya is a frequently tested infrastructure and energy-access scheme, often linked with other ‘Power for All’ initiatives.

Saubhagya (Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana) was launched on 25 September 2017. Its goal was to achieve universal household electrification by providing last-mile electricity connections to all un-electrified households in rural and urban areas.
