SVAMITVA gives villagers a legal record of their residential property, helping them access bank loans and reducing land disputes. It is a flagship example of tech-driven governance — popular in polity and rural-development questions.

SVAMITVA (Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) was launched on 24 April 2020 (National Panchayati Raj Day). It uses drones and modern survey technology to map the inhabited (abadi) areas of villages and provide property cards (record of rights) to rural household owners.
