The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme was launched on 22 January 2015 from Panipat, Haryana. It is a national initiative aimed at addressing the declining Child Sex Ratio (CSR) and related issues of women's empowerment over a life cycle continuum. The scheme promotes the survival, protection and education of the girl child.
