The Make in India initiative was launched on 25 September 2014. It is a major national programme designed to facilitate investment, foster innovation, build best-in-class infrastructure and make India a hub for manufacturing, design and innovation. Its mascot is a striding lion made of cogs and wheels, symbolising strength and manufacturing.
