The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), Jaipur has released the new syllabus and exam pattern for the Common Eligibility Test (CET) Graduate Level Examination 2026. Latest Update on Syllabus & Exam Pattern

According to the latest update, RSSB has published the complete syllabus and exam pattern for the CET Graduate Level 2026 on its official website. Two important changes have been introduced this time: negative marking has now been applied in the CET Graduate Level exam, and the validity of the CET certificate has been extended from 1 year to 3 years. Candidates should prepare based on this syllabus and pattern to score well in the examination.

CET Graduate Level Exam Pattern 2026

The Rajasthan CET Graduate Level exam will be conducted in offline (OMR-based) mode with objective multiple-choice questions. As per the new RSSB OMR rule, candidates will now be given five options (A, B, C, D and E) instead of four - the fifth option (E) must be filled if a candidate wishes to leave a question unanswered. Any candidate who leaves more than 10% of the questions blank will be declared disqualified. The exam will have 150 questions carrying 300 marks and will last for 3 hours, with a negative marking of one-third (1/3) for each wrong answer.

1. History of India & Rajasthan (with special emphasis on the Indian National Movement)

• Important events of Indian history; social and religious reform movements of the 19th and 20th centuries.
• The Indian freedom struggle - its various phases and the contribution of leaders from different regions of the country.
• Rajasthan's contribution to the Revolt of 1857, tribal and peasant movements in Rajasthan, political awakening and the Prajamandal movement.
• Post-independence nation building - national integration and reorganisation of states, institution building in the Nehru era, development of science and technology.

2. History, Art, Culture, Literature, Tradition & Heritage of Rajasthan

• Ancient civilizations - Kalibanga, Ahar, Ganeshwar, Balathal and Bairath.
• Major historical events, prominent dynasties, their administrative and revenue systems, and socio-cultural dimensions.
• Key features of architecture - forts, monuments, arts, paintings and handicrafts.
• Important works of Rajasthani literature and regional dialects.
• Fairs, festivals, folk music and folk dances.
• Rajasthani culture, tradition and heritage; religious movements, saints and folk deities; important historical sites; prominent personalities; and the integration of Rajasthan.

3. Geography of India

• Physical features - mountains, plateaus, deserts and plains; climate and monsoon system.
• Major rivers, dams, lakes and seas; wildlife and sanctuaries.
• Major crops (wheat, rice, cotton, sugarcane, tea, coffee) and minerals (iron ore, manganese, bauxite, mica).
• Energy resources (conventional and non-conventional), major industries and industrial regions, national highways, means of transport and trade.

4. Geography of Rajasthan

• Geological structure and physiographic regions; climatic conditions, monsoon system and climatic regions.
• Drainage system, lakes, dams and water conservation techniques; natural vegetation, wildlife and sanctuaries; soils.
• Major Rabi and Kharif crops; population - growth, density, literacy and sex ratio; major tribes.
• Metallic and non-metallic minerals, energy resources; tourist places; means of transport - national highways, rail and air.

5. Indian Political System (with special emphasis on Rajasthan)

• Nature of the Indian Constitution, Preamble, Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles of State Policy, Fundamental Duties, federal structure, constitutional amendments, emergency provisions and public interest litigation.
• The Constituent Assembly and salient features of the Constitution.
• President, Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Parliament, Supreme Court; Union and State executives, Election Commission, CAG, Chief Information Commissioner, Lokpal, National Human Rights Commission, local self-government and Panchayati Raj.
• Political and administrative system of Rajasthan - Governor, Chief Minister, State Legislative Assembly, High Court, RPSC, district administration, State Human Rights Commission, Lokayukta, State Election Commission and State Information Commission.

6. Economy of India

• Budget formation, banking, public finance, GST, national income, and basic knowledge of growth and development.
• Fiscal and monetary policies; subsidies, public distribution system; e-commerce.
• Major sectors of the economy - agriculture, industry, service and trade: current status, issues and initiatives.
• Green, White and Blue revolutions; five-year plans and planning system; major economic problems, government initiatives, economic reforms and liberalisation.

7. Economy of Rajasthan

• Food and commercial crops of Rajasthan, agro-based industries.
• Major irrigation and river valley projects, wasteland and drought area development projects, Indira Gandhi Canal project.
• Development and location of industries - agro-based, mineral-based, small, cottage and village industries, export items, Rajasthani handicrafts.
• Poverty and unemployment - concept, types, causes, remedies and current flagship schemes; social justice and empowerment; welfare schemes, MGNREGA; cooperative movement; role of Panchayati Raj institutions (73rd Amendment) in rural development.

8. Science & Technology

• Information & communication technology; defence, space technology and satellites.
• Electric current, heat, work and energy; food and nutrition, blood groups and RH factor.
• Health care - communicable, non-communicable and zoonotic diseases; environmental and ecological changes and their effects; biodiversity, conservation of natural resources and sustainable development.
• Economic importance of animals and plants; agriculture, horticulture, forestry and animal husbandry (with special reference to Rajasthan); physical and chemical changes; acids, bases and salts, bleaching powder, baking soda, Plaster of Paris, soaps and detergents.

9. Logical Reasoning, Mental Ability & Basic Numerical Efficiency

• Making series/analogy, figure matrix questions, classification, alphabet test, passage and conclusions, blood relations, coding-decoding, direction sense test.
• Sitting arrangement, input-output, number ranking and time sequence, making judgments, logical arrangement of words, inserting the missing character/number.
• Mathematical operations, average, ratio; area of triangle, circle, ellipse, trapezium, rectangle, sphere and cylinder; percentage; simple and compound interest.
• Unitary method, profit & loss, average, ratio & proportion; volume of sphere, cylinder, cube and cone.

10. Language Knowledge: Hindi

• General Hindi; Sandhi and Sandhi Vichchhed; Noun, Pronoun, Adjective, Verb, Adverb, Case, Indeclinable.
• Samas, prefix and suffix, antonyms, synonyms and words with multiple meanings; punctuation; sound and its classification.
• Technical terminology (Hindi equivalents of English technical terms); word and sentence correction; idioms and proverbs.
• Rajbhasha Hindi - constitutional position; letters and their types (with special reference to the format of official letters).

11. Language Knowledge: General English

• Use of articles and determiners; tense/sequence of tenses; voice (active and passive); narration (direct and indirect).
• Use of prepositions; translation of common English sentences into Hindi and vice-versa; synonyms and antonyms.
• Comprehension of a given passage; glossary of official and technical terms; letter writing (official, demi-official, circulars and notices).
• Idioms and phrases; one-word substitution.

12. Computer Knowledge

• Characteristics of computers; computer organization including RAM, ROM, file system and input devices.
• Computer software - relationship between hardware and software; operating system.
• MS Office (exposure to Word, Excel/Spreadsheet, PowerPoint).

13. Current Affairs

• Major current events and issues of Rajasthan, national and international importance.
• Currently prominent persons, places and institutions; sports and sports-related activities.
