UPTET Eligibility Criteria

Paper 1 (Classes 1 to 5)

  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), OR
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed, OR
  • Graduation and 2-year BTC / D.El.Ed as per NCTE norms.

Paper 2 (Classes 6 to 8)

  • Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year/2-year B.Ed, OR
  • Equivalent qualification as per NCTE guidelines.

Reserved category candidates get relaxation in minimum marks as per Uttar Pradesh government rules.

UPTET Exam Pattern

Each UPTET paper consists of 150 multiple-choice questions for 150 marks with a duration of 2 hours 30 minutes. There is no negative marking, so candidates should attempt all questions.
