Part B is trade-specific and qualifying in nature. Candidates must secure a minimum of 35% marks to be eligible. Part B marks are NOT counted in the final merit list. The syllabus is drawn from the DGET trade syllabus for the specific ITI trade chosen at the time of application.

The CBAT tests natural aptitude — no conventional academic preparation is needed. However, practising with CBAT-style sample tests significantly improves performance.

Subject-Wise Preparation Strategy
CBT 1 — Speed & Accuracy (60 min / 75 Qs = ~48 sec per question)
CBT 2 Part A — The Merit-Maker
CBT 2 Part A directly determines your merit ranking. Basic Science & Engineering (40 questions) is the most important section. Candidates with strong ITI/Diploma background have a natural advantage.
Engineering Drawing is consistently overlooked but yields 5–8 questions. Study projection types, views, and symbolic representation carefully.
⚠️ Negative Marking Strategy
Both CBT 1 and CBT 2 carry 1/3 mark negative marking. Set a personal rule: attempt only questions where you can eliminate at least 2 wrong options confidently. Random guessing is costly across 175 questions.
