Tamil Nadu launched the Nalam TN integrated digital health platform in Chennai on 14 July 2026, creating a single online interface for government healthcare services across the State. The portal was introduced under the State Health and Family Welfare Department and aims to link patients, hospitals, and public institutions through one system.
The platform brings multiple health services together and includes a monitored contribution system that lets individuals and organisations donate directly to government hospitals. It builds on Tamil Nadu's earlier digital step, NalamAI, a WhatsApp-based chatbot launched in July 2026 for booking outpatient appointments in several districts.
Alongside the launch, healthcare projects worth ₹139 crore were inaugurated across government medical college hospitals, district hospitals, and primary health centres. Appointment orders were also issued to 751 Assistant Medical Officers and 1,393 Health Inspectors selected through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission.
