What Does the Fresh Form Clarification Say?
NTA allows a fresh Session 1 application even where an application number has already been generated or a fee paid. Only the last application with successful fee payment and a generated confirmation page will be valid. If a fresh form is left unpaid or without its confirmation page, an earlier form for which both steps were completed remains valid.
- A fresh application receives a new application number.
- Details, photograph, signature and documents must be entered or uploaded again.
- The earlier examination fee will not be refunded or adjusted against the new form.
- For changes to certain particulars, NTA advises using the correction facility instead of submitting a fresh application.
One Examination Attempt per Session
Having more than one application number does not grant extra attempts. Appearing, or attempting to appear, using more than one application number in the same session will be treated as an unfair-means case. The clarification distinguishes this from merely holding multiple application numbers without appearing through them.
Application Checklist
- Read the current information bulletin and eligibility conditions on the official website.
- Use the correct Session 1 application route and check the chosen paper carefully.
- Review your personal and educational particulars before submission.
- Complete payment and make sure the confirmation page is generated.
- Keep the final valid application number, confirmation page and fee receipt together.
Which Paper Should Candidates Check?
The application notice identifies Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech and Paper 2 for B.Arch and B.Planning. Candidates must check the bulletin for their programme’s eligibility, paper requirements and full fee details; the ₹500 amount above is the additional late fee, not the standard examination fee.
